“Perhaps it is good to have a beautiful mind, but an even greater gift is to discover a beautiful heart.”
We usually meet to speak about our blog on Mondays. A month ago, all the posts we had written, all the meetings we had been at, all the new people that we had met, made us think that we really got involved in this project. So, we decided to do something more. We wanted to put a film in our school (about people with disabilities of course) for students and teachers. Preparing for this, we made a list with some titles and we went to watch them, together (The Team). And this was fantastic.
After we decided in regard to the film, a lot of problems appeared. The main idea was that it was almost impossible to accomplish our plan. This was a disappointment for us, but we thought about an alternative. What about posting the film we think you must watch? Maybe our first choice is a little daring but we were really fascinated by this one:
A Beautiful Mind
The film is based on the life of John Nash (if this name doesn’t tell you anything, click here), an American mathematician and also a Nobel Laureate in Economics.
A story about life, intelligence, love and…paranoid schizophrenia. A genius trying to fight with himself, with his thoughts and what is worse, with his mind; big dreams coming true only after an entire life of not knowing what is or what isn’t real.
We think it’s good for you to know that it grossed over $313 million worldwide, and went on to win four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Actress in a Supporting Role. It was also nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Film Editing, Best Makeup, and Best Original Score.(see more)
We’re sure that the story of John Nash will have all your attention. Watch it and tell us what do you think!
